Happy Sunday Everyone!
I hope your Christmas was FABULOUS! Can you believe tonight we will enter into a new YEAR?!! Where has the year gone?! HAPPY NEW YEAR! Grant and I want to give you a quick update on what's happening on our end when it comes to finding Baby Dew:
The attorney's office called Thursday and said there's a unique opportunity that he'd like to present to us. Here were the details:
"There's a birth mom who has decided to go the adoption route, 31 and very head-strong. The original couple that was presented first had kids of their own, but the birth mom requested a couple without children. This being the case, we would like to present you and Grant alongside one other couple. Oh, one more thing she is due any moment! Also, if she were to choose you and Grant, you'd need to come up with $12,000 immediately ($5,000 for attorney fees, $4,000 for the birth mom, $2,000 for court fees, and $1,000 for the father). I don't know the gender of the baby, but I do know the birth parents are African American. Are you interested in me presenting your profile to her?"
WOW!! I looked at Grant with my eyes wide and whispered, "What do you think?" He just nodded his head and I said to Victor, "YES!"
Here's the latest:
A baby girl was born Friday, December 29th. We are in the waiting stage at this moment. The birth mom hasn't decided if she wants to keep the baby or pick an adoption couple. We're hoping to find something out TOMORROW or Tuesday! We are so excited to have this opportunity, but slightly taken back by the quickness of things and the amount of money we'd need! Regardless, if this is supposed to happen we are confident that everything will fall in place!
WE NEED YOUR PRAYERS! As much as I want to hold this baby girl in my arms, I first and foremost want what's best for the baby and the birth mom. If it's best for the baby to be placed with an adoptive family, then I pray the birth mom chooses the family she will be most confident and comfortable with!
We'll make sure to keep you posted with any updates!
