Thursday night bible study went great once again this week! Since it has been raining a lot here we knew we could not fit all the kids in our house. So we decided to take a field trip to countryside park where there is a huge pavilion. The kids had a great time playing soccer, painting nails, playing twister, and so much more! Our bible study was on 1 Corinthians 13. This week we learned that each of us has been gifted with the ability to love, and why love is so important to our witness as Christians. All-in-all we had 53 kids on our little bus not to mention the others that had their own transportation, and an awesome team from Mt. Hope Church who came to assist us!! It was so great to have a lending hand from those guys!! Thursday night attendance is growing very rapidly every week! Although it is an awesome thing to have such a great ministry opportunity, please continue to pray that we continue have all the resources we need to meet the grower numbers: (i.e. food, helpers, time, etc.)
Yesterday Grant and I had a day full of shopping! I'm not sure it even slightly compares to shopping in the states, but nonetheless we did make some purchases. Lil' John and Selvin will attend Jireh School starting in 5 weeks. We were so excited to take them to Cayo where they could pick out new shoes and a backpack. After visiting every market place the boys were still indecisive. I looked at Grant and said, "Goodness, these boys are worse than girls!" Come to find out, the boys had NEVER gone "shopping" before. We sat back and let them pick and choose as they wanted. They were having difficulties making up their minds because they had never the opportunity to choose for themselves. Finally, they decided on what they wanted and if you follow us on Facebook we always have to post pictures of new shoes....so here they are (sadly we didn't get a pair, just the boys)!!!
What a treat it was this morning to see Louis, Heber, and Brian be baptized at Mennonite Beach. Nope, we didn't understand ANYTHING that was going on during the service since it was all in spanish, but we got the jest! It makes us so proud to see young men like this give their hearts to the Lord.
We NEED your prayers. Grant and I are having vehicle issues! Seems like everything we touch breaks down (LITERALLY) -- except for the motorcycle, although we did have issues with someone trying to pick the lock on it. I feel like the enemy knows exactly how to tear us down, but we are staying strong and I am declaring that TODAY we will have NO more vehicle issues!! PRAY PRAY PRAY :)
