We are off to the beach tomorrow! Bus leaves at 6 AM. We are taking the nine graduates and one parent each to La Placencia. Tonights schedule includes making 40 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches! The bus is now waterproof (all those who have been to Belize know what I mean), clean, and full of gas!
Grant and I took a trip to San Ignacio with two boys from Duck Run 3. Lil' John took us to the place his mom buys groceries every two weeks because he said it is much cheaper than Spanish Lookout. After visiting the frozen area and seeing blood dripping from the cooler Grant proceeded to exit the building and throw up his lunch from earlier-- needless to say we didn't buy chicken there!
I spent Saturday afternoon making curtains with Señora Rena. We had so much fun trying to speak to each other. My little bit of spanish mixed with a southern accent and her little knowledge of english made for a fun afternoon!
Also, we now have neighbors!! Ashlee and I pulled into our drive Saturday to find a new house had been put up while we were out. The house is bright pink with purple trim. I told Ashlee that they were challenging her to see who would have the most colorful home!! On Saturday we also went without electricity because a dump truck who was pouring their drive torn down the electrical line. Luckily, John came to the rescue and brought the generator!! We lost no groceries but without our fans, it made for a hot day.
For all you dog lovers, Tibbs has been demoted as an inside dog to the porch outside. Unable to use the facilities outside, he will now have no other choice.
Needless to say we have way more stories than we have time to tell. We miss you all and appreciate ALL your support and prayers.
P.S.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!! We've got one kid needing a way to high school. Selvin age 16 in ready to begin this next semester; however, does not have the finances to do so. We would like to raise the funds to get him through this year. Cost of high school is $400 US for the year. He will also need school supplies and uniforms for each day of the week. If you'd be interested in giving ANY support please contact us through email. THANK YOU TO THE THREE FAMILIES WHO ARE ALREADY SPONSORING 3 STUDENTS-- Mayra, Jorge, and Joselin!!
